Staple launches the film issue with a Staple and Word! Film Special at Phoenix Square, Leicester: new work by Lydia Towsey, Jayne Stanton, Maria Taylor, Pam Thompson and ‘the ghost poet’ set to film backdrops and visuals by Word’s regular film-maker Keith Allott. Starts 8pm, but arriving earlier is recommended if you want to take part in the open mic slots. An afternoon ‘WORDshop’ will take place earlier the same day (from 4 – 6pm) in one of Phoenix’s resource rooms, drawing on film themes, and led by Pam Thompson.
